There are lots of gaming consoles on the market and one of the most popular is the Xbox 360, by Microsoft. The Xbox was the first video game console to be launched by Microsoft and has undergone numerous technological developments since its launch. The second version of the Xbox is the Xbox 360, which was launched in 2005, and has many more features than the original Xbox. Unfortunately since its launch many users have had problems with the consoles hardware. Some of the most common problems include the 3-red light error and overheating.

The term “the 3-red light error” is refering to the three lights in the power ring that blink red when there is an error with the console. When a problem occurs the lights around the power button turn from green to red, which is a warning sign of an error.

There are a number of reasons for seeing the red light error but the most common is the console overheating. This occurs when the heat sinks are not able to properly cool the hot air created near the processor, in turn causing the processor to fail. Overheating can be caused by several factors. It can be caused by a surge in power consumption by the intercooler, which forces the motherboard to conduct larger current through its circuit, or alternatively it can be caused by bad chip components attached to the motherboard.

Overheating can cause the GUI (Graphical User Interface) to fail and result in the 3-red light error. As well as the three glowing red lights around the power button an error message will probably show on your screen. The error message will probably show up as E74 but it could also be a different error message.

There are a few steps you can take to stop the red light error from occurring, and one of them is to ensure enough cool air circulates around the motherboard to keep it cool. If you are able to maintain a constant temperature you should not see the error.

If you are unfortunate enough to experience the 3-red light error there are several ways you can repair it. You can send your console off to Microsoft if you want to wait weeks for it to be returned to you. Or you can repair it yourself and save a lot of time and expense.

You can be back playing your favorite game in no time at all without getting the annoying 3-red light error, and you wont have spent loads of money.
