Singles: Life in the Seattle dating scene ain’t simple. Energetic seriocomedy with some appealing performances (particularly by-Scott and Sedgwick), however by no means as enlightening as you wish it can be. Film has music, setting, and fashion galore, although additionally a rather choppy script. Deep Red: There’s style to burn in pointless terror thriller with Hemmings on the trail of a sadistic psycho murderer. Showy, weird scenes set to beating rock soundtrack. Cast includes David Hemmings, Daria Nicolodi, Gabriele Lavia, Macha Meril, and Glauco Mauri. (98 minutes, 1975)

Requiem for a Heavyweight: Solemn account of boxer, Quinn, whose ring occupation is over, pushing him into corruption and degradation. His sleazy supervisor Gleason, understanding teacher Rooney, and Harris as unrealistic city employee are all fine. Cast includes Anthony Quinn, Jackie Gleason, Mickey Rooney, Julie Harris, Nancy Cushman, Madame Spivy, and Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali). (100 minutes, 1952)

A Life of Her Own: Turner is at the hub of 3-way romance leading to heartbreak for all. Dvorak wraps it up with her master depiction of an aging model. Cast includes Lana Turner, Ray MillaItd, Tom Ewell, Louis Calhern, Ann Dvornk, Margaret Phillips, Jean Hagen, Barry Sullivan, and Phyllis Kirk. (108 minutes, 1950)

Foxtrot: O’Toole and his spouse escape Rumania in the late 1930s and shelter on an island heaven to hide from a planet getting ready to explode into battle.
