LG Wine vs BlackBerry Rumpus

Sunday, October 12th, 2008 121 views

Bell Canada has released the LG Wine while it waits for the embark upon of the BlackBerry Rumpus. Most Lilliputian to say prevalent this curiously named LG handset, so I suspicion that’s why Bell pushed it out underneath the companion of the upcoming Thunder. The LG Wine offers up a 1.3 megapixel camera, foreign speakerphone, Bluetooth 1.2? But things do upscale a barely with the combining of a QVGA show off and GPS. The LG Wine with Bell last will and testament set you outlying $79.99 on a 3 year concurrence, $129.95 with a two year, $229.95 on a one year and without unity $279.95.

AT&T page confirms HTC Touch Pro as "Fuze"

Saturday, September 6th, 2008 169 views

Filed under: Handsets, HTC, ATT, Windows Mobile, GSM, EDGE, HSDPA, UMTS

Before a single AT&T-subscribing soul dreams of jumping ship for Sprint just to pick up the Touch Pro in a few weeks, hold up: we can pretty much confirm that it’s coming to your neck of the woods, too. We’ve already seen some totally legit-looking shots of HTC’s hottest QWERTY WinMo piece in AT&T trim, but now we have some more damning evidence in the form of a Google cached page detailing the so-called Fuze on the carrier’s own site. As expected, we′ve got tri-band HSDPA, GPS, WiFi, and BlackBerry Connect waiting for us when AT&ampT finally decides to pull the plug on the Tilt and make this thing happen. Follow the break for AT&T’s poetic Fuze verbiage — and take your time, since there’s no indication that we’ll have this in stores in the next few days.

[Thanks, Fred]

BlackBerry Kickstart 8220 surfaces on eBay, trigger fingers get itchy

Saturday, August 30th, 2008 173 views

Not that you won’t be able to buy this thing from carriers here shortly, but there’s just nothing quite like being the first on your block to own a new handset. For those with cash to burn and an insatiable desire to play with RIM′s forthcoming Kickstart 8220, look no further than eBay. Up for auction right now is an unlocked version of the aforesaid mobile, but it looks as if the final bid will end up well over a grand. Good luck (being patient).

BlackBerry Storm 9530 for Verizon gets boxed

Thursday, August 28th, 2008 209 views

Filed under: Handsets, RIM, Verizon Wireless, Vodafone, Rogers Wireless, GSM, EDGE, EV-DO, HSDPA, UMTS, CDMA

So we might not have a physical device here, but these packaging renderings are pretty solid evidence of exactly what BlackBerry fans on Verizon — particularly those jealous of the Bold — can expect in a few weeks′ time. It looks like RIM’s first foray into the scary world of touchscreens will be officially branded the 9530 Storm, will be global (it includes a SIM card, after all), and will feature an 8GB SanDisk microSD card preinstalled. Wondering what happened to the Thunder name? Turns out that’ll apparently be reserved for the version of the phone launching on Rogers up in Canada and on Vodafone across the pond. Those Storm users on the screen there sure look happy, don’t they?
